Kala joined MSU Internal Audit as an Internal Auditor III in March 2025. Prior to joining Internal Audit, she served as the Business Manager for MSU’s Department of Communication, where she managed departmental financial operations and implemented internal controls to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Kala also previously held roles as a Human Resources Specialist with Rankin County School District and Assistant Director of Human Resources at Hinds Community College, gaining extensive experience in payroll, compliance, and personnel management.
She earned her Master of Business Administration in 2008 and Bachelor of Business Administration in Risk Management and Insurance in 2007, both from Mississippi State University. Kala has been recognized as a Zacharias Distinguished Staff Nominee and is an active mentor and committee participant within the MSU community.
